We would suggest your mission be a specific way that you will help people.  You might consider that to be a corny, naive or old fashion idea that doesn't apply in this new millennium.  But take a look at any successful business, and think about how much that business has helped people or organizations (i.e. groups of people).

We live in a society of free choice.  If you don't help people, they will do their business with someone who will.  

Successful individuals help people.  Successful businesses help people or organizations.  If your primary mission is to only help yourself, your selfishness will eventually destroy your business.  Your Ricardian-Rent is the number of people you help, multiplied by the amount that you help them.  Maximize your Ricardian-Rent and you will change industries and maximize your wealth.

"If you can figure out how to make a client a dollar, you can always figure out how to get paid a dime." Pete Peterson, Lehman Brothers.   This is the best way to make big money, but it isn't as easy as it sounds.
